When performing an LS engine swap into classic muscle cars and trucks, the use of an aftermarket, steel oil pan usually provides better, cross member, component and ground clearance than GM's factory, cast aluminum pan. The only hurdle with this swap is that GM integrated the oil filter mounting flange, nipple and passage ways into the factory cast pan. Remove the factory LS pan, and you lose a place to spin-on your oil filter.
This LS swap specific oil pan and filter relocation system combo kit eliminates this hurdle by including both a rear sump oil pan that clears the vehicle's cross member, and a complete oil filter relocation system that allows you to relocate the oil filter from the factory LS pan to the firewall, fenderwell or other easy to reach location on the vehicle.
The Black pan in this kit has kickouts that offer a 7 qt. capacity, and has two integrated -10AN fittings that you attach the 90 degree hose fittings to, then plumb the oil lines to the remote mount, cast aluminum DUAL filter base. The kit includes a special oil pump pickup tube designed specifically for the oil pan, a complete oil pan gasket set and mounting bolts.
The remote base in this kit is a DOUBLE filter unit that has horizontal inlet (2) and outlet (2) ports, and includes 30" hoses, 4 hose fittings, filter nipple and 2 plugs for the unused ports. Having two filters effectively doubles the system's filtering surface area, and increases the oil capacity of your system. The multiple port design allows the remote base to be hooked up with both hoses to the left, right, or one on each side. Just plug the unused ports with the pipe plugs included in this kit. The only thing not included is a PH8A, or equivalent, oil filter.

Like so many of the other iconic names in the automotive performance and racing industry, Trans-Dapt Performance Products got its start in some regular Joes cramped garage, fueled by his own need to have the fastest, meanest hot rod in town. In a hobby where money buys you horsepower, these early \"pioneers of speed\" usually resorted to turning their automotive “know-how into a business that helped subsidize their passion for automotive tinkering, and speed.
For Trans-Dapt Performance Products, that “regular Joe was Willie Garner. In 1959, Willie started his company, Trans-Dapt of California, by manufacturing what HE knew best, transmission adapters. He saw the need for a way to couple dissimilar engines and transmissions. He filled the need well, and the rest is hot rodding history. Today, more than five decades later, Trans-Dapt Performance Products is still running on all cylinders, and they continue to deliver fresh, new products to local speed shop around the globe.
As part of the Hedman Performance Group, Trans-Dapt Performance Products is able couple its expertise with that of Hamburgers Performance and Hedman Hedders to design and offer products that dont just get designed together, they get designed to work together.
One glance at the Trans-dapt Product line, and youll quickly realize the benefit of relying on a performance company with such a diverse performance background. So, whether you just like to have a sharp looking ride, or desire a ground-pounding muscle car, Trans-Dapt Performance Products and the rest of the HP Group have what you need.
